| How far in advance should I schedule a session? |
I try to schedule at least 2 weeks in advance. That being said, I can usually accommodate any schedule. Let me know what your time frame is and we'll make it work! |
| Are there any advantages to a Studio Session vs. an Outdoor Session? |
There are advantages to both. Shooting outdoors helps us get a lot more variety and individuality in your session. The city is an ever-evolving animal so that gives us countless opportunities to find a background/ location that is just for you! That being said, some people prefer the privacy and climate control of a studio. It really comes down to what you are most comfortable with. Either way, we make sure you are feeling at home and free to create! |
| How should I prepare for my session? |
As funny as it sounds, I am a big advocate for making friends with your webcam or digital camera. It's important for people to have a realistic idea of how they look in a picture. Get a feel for what angles and colors you prefer. It will all inform our session. As far as the night before, be sure to get lots of rest, lots of water and try to avoid alcohol. |
| What should I bring to my session? |
Bring all your clothes in a small rolling suitcase or garment bag. Also bring any hair and makeup products you use. If we are in a studio, feel free to bring your i-Pod or any CD's you'd like to play. |
| What should I wear? |
It's funny...There used to be a lot of "rules" about what you should wear for headshots. While some things obviously look better than others, the biggest priority if that you WEAR WHAT YOU LOVE. When in doubt, BRING IT. We will try stuff on and see if it works in the space. With all that said, there are some general rules of thumb: Keep things as form fitting as possible, try to avoid colors that are very close to your skin tone, and bring something black and something white. |
| What happens after we shoot? |
I will email you within a week's time with a link to an online portfolio of your proofs (which you can download straight from the site). Once you've chosen your final shots, shoot me an mail with those filenames and I'll email you back within a week's time with your retouched shots. Easy as pie! Feel free to check out my Contact page for links to recommended reproduction companies. |
